Partners

Marcia is a partner in the Lexington office of Turlington and Company, L.L.P.  She is currently designated as the partner in charge of technology.  Since joining the firm in 1986, Marcia has worked in the areas of accounting, auditing, and taxation.  Marcia has extensive knowledge of taxation related to individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts.  Marcia’s knowledge has been invaluable in assisting clients in tax planning as well as preparing tax returns.  In addition to her focus on taxation, Marcia also has extensive experience in performing compilations and reviews for not-for-profit entities and governmental units.  Marcia also assists clients with technology issues related to their businesses.

Marcia graduated with honors from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in 1986 with an Associate’s degree in accounting.  She earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina in October, 1991.

Marcia is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA).

In addition to her work responsibilities, Marcia is married with three children and seven grandchildren.  She is also active in church and civic activities.  Marcia is currently serving as treasurer for two local not-for-profit agencies.  Previously, she served as Sunday School Superintendent at Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ, which she still attends.
